February 12, 2020 In Malaysia, new mothers have help to take care of them and their newborns. Kasandra is determined to be independent and we are happy when she finally agrees to have us babysit our two grandsons. How difficult can it be right? We are so wrong – these 2 months old and 3 years old dictate our lives for 3 days and 2 nights!

February 5, 2020 I LOVE designing photobook and especially for our grandson, Kiel. It was such a joy to watch his facial reactions when he opened his birthday book and sees his photos on all the pages. Mission accomplished. Happy boy.

December 5, 2019 We took care of our grandson, Kiel while his mom was at the hospital to deliver her baby. Kiel had so many fun activities and we even brought him to the library. Kiel visited baby Aaron in a doctor's scrub costume and it was cuteness overloaded. He was so gentle and amazed at his little brother. Welcome to the world, Aaron. Kiel, you're a big brother now!

November 2, 2019 Halloween is fun when we have a 3 year old grandson to celebrate with. We were dressed up as The Incredibles, he was the hunter, dad's the big bad wolf and mom was the Little Red Riding Hood. I even bake spider cookies. It's great to see children walking the street trick-or-treating with their bigger siblings or parents.

August 21, 2019 Shane's track meet colleague Jim McLachlan's sweet corn field produces one of the sweetest and most delicious sweet corns I've ever eaten. It is located in the Otis Orchards in Washington State. The sweet corns are so popular that they are sold out amongst friends and neighbors. Harvesting and selling them is a fun time for family and friends meetup.

August 20, 2019 Our family has a beautiful wedding at Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic Peninsula. Ryan fell in love with this place when Shane brought him and his friends over here on a college spring break. He has visited this rainforest every chance he got and brought Kasandra along. We found a beautiful spot and Kasandra's mom officiated their nuptial.

November 10, 2018 This post explains the roles a starter plays in the track and field sports. It is more than just firing the gun. Shane has been a starter for more than 40 years and has travelled all over the country. I follow him to this NCAA Cross Country Championships in Walla Walla, Washington. It is a very cold day and these athletics are in shorts and tank tops!

October 17, 2018 Today is grape harvest day and we have our daughter-in-law and little grandson to 'help'. We are going to make jam and juice them. The vines are in their 4th year of growth. There are so many grapes more than we anticipate as we fill up bowls and containers. Watch how Kiel helps us harvest grapes and the things he does to occupy himself.

October 10, 2018 Manito Park Japanese Garden in Spokane, WA is known as the the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden. It is a place of beauty and tranquility. Fall is our favorite time of the year to visit this garden because the trees are in beautiful shades of warm colors. This is the perfect time to bring your significant other for some great photo moments.

September 26, 2018 Apple picking day for the family at Green Bluff, Washington. It's our grandson first visit and he enjoys the tractor ride to the orchard. This bundle of energy is everywhere, picking apples, riding on a wheelbarrow and making daddy chase him. The petting zoo and play area gets his attention too and we love to watch the joy on his face.
