Aaron is TWO!
It’s amazing how time flies so quickly even though we haven’t been doing much since 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Aaron is two! We try to see our grandkids as much as possible but we have missed out on birthdays and the holidays. We did not celebrate Aaron turning one so this year we vowed we will do something different. This time we are going to celebrate Aaron turning two.
Jurassic Quest in Spokane, WA
An advert showed up on my Facebook two weeks before Aaron’s birthday. It said Jurassic Quest is coming to Spokane, WA and they will be here from December 3rd to the 5th. I thought that was perfect timing since Aaron is turning two on that weekend. We called our daughter-in-law asking about plans for Aaron’s birthday. There was none so we suggested bringing the boys to the Jurassic Quest as our birthday present for Aaron and a family outing. Shane purchased the tickets online. Adults have to show the vaccination cards to get into the convention center and masks are required. Kiel has access to all the rides because he’s big and tall enough for them. We are excited to see how Aaron will react.
Birthday at Jurassic Quest
Kiel and Aaron wear their dinosaurs t-shirts. They look so adorable. It’s really good to see our kids and family again and celebrate Aaron’s birthday at Jurassic Quest together. Kiel is so excited while Aaron isn’t very sure yet. Kiel is a bundle of energy and runs ahead with his dad following to make sure he doesn’t get lost. Aaron is intimidated with the life sized dinosaurs. They are so realistic. He isn’t interested in the giant fossil dig either. Kiel knows what he likes – the dinosaur rides and inflatables. Aaron wants to follow what his big brother does but he is too little for the inflatables. We are very happy to see Kiel enjoying himself immensely.
Baby Jurassic Quest
Grandpa brings Aaron to the baby Jurassic Quest corner and his eyes light up! He goes into the inflatable until a much older boy jumps in and bounces them around. He doesn’t like that. Grandpa introduces him to the baby dinosaurs ride and slides. He is tentative at first but quickly gets the hang of it and goes up and down the slides with a big smile on his face. After a while he goes back to the inflatable, plays in there for a while and back to the rides and slides.
Overall Experience
If I have to review the Jurassic Quest experience, I will say the overall experience is fairly okay. Visitors have time entry of 3 hours for the indoor event to limit crowds but Kiel still has to wait very long to get a chance to ride on a dinosaur. He eventually gives up and go for the inflatables instead. We don’t see the realistic and interactive Baby Dinosaur & Raptor Training Experience that was promoted online. I personally think Jurassic Quest could have done better with the plants and props. I’ve been to one in Malaysia and it is a lot better and cheaper. See this YouTube video. We are happy our grandsons enjoy themselves but will we go back next year….not likely.
