I (Alice Koh) now offers Malaysian food catering with partnership from Feast World Kitchen, Spokane, Washington. There are so many dishes I like to cook but for now I have selected some of my favorites.

This post is about Mamadeenee, a Muslim Thai woman we met in Krabi. She cooks delicious and affordable Thai dishes at her small stall in the RCA Entertainment lane. Check her out if you are in the area and help support her.

Shane and I found our favorite Japanese Restaurant at Citta Mall. Sushi Zanmai has some amazing varieties of delicious sushi and sashimi and we are inspired with the food presentation. One big bonus for us – they have the real Japanese wasabi for us to try and it was indeed a culinary experience!

Our quest to look for the real Japanese wasabi leads us to Don Don Donki outlet and Sen Sen Sushi restaurant in Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway. Braving a huge crowd on the weekend of their Grand Opening to get a taste of the Japanese wasabi as advertised.

I LOVE ice kacang. My favorite place for this thirst quenching famous Malaysian dessert is at Suria KLCC. It is quite a distance to get there from where we are staying BUT ice kacang there is my to go place. I will explain why.

I think of this Chicken with Crispy Ginger and Black Fungus every time I want to cook a dish using ginger. This dish also call for some Chinese rice wine to compliment the taste of ginger. This is the first time Shane gets to see black fungus up close when I ask him to hold them for me for photo taking. That man is not convince it is tasty.

My first recipe post on this website! Jan, a friend shared tomatoes from her garden and I was inspired to make a fusion Thai Rice Vermicelli Salad. This recipe is easy to make and ingredients are available in any grocery store near you. Come master this salad recipe with your own version and there is no need to eat out anymore!

My sister Helen brings us back to our childhood place, Pandamaran to buy our mom Chai Pau for her birthday lunch. Pandamaran is a treasure throve of great food and we are giddily happy to indulge ourselves with so much food. Even Shane gets invited to help make chai pau. Shane and I share one common favorite food – We love Japanese food! We arrived in Malaysia two days ago and today we visit AEON BiG at 1 Utama Shopping Centre for some delicious Japanese food. The newly renovated food court has so many Japanese food, we went into a food frenzy! LOL There are so many choices and the prices are fairly decent.
