Japanese Food Frenzy
Shane and I share one common favorite food – We love Japanese food! We arrived in Malaysia two days ago and today we visit AEON BiG at 1 Utama Shopping Centre for some delicious Japanese food. The newly renovated food court has so many Japanese food, we went into a food frenzy! LOL There are so many choices and the prices are fairly decent.
Cross Country Starter
This post explains the roles a starter plays in the track and field sports. It is more than just firing the gun. Shane has been a starter for more than 40 years and has travelled all over the country. I follow him to this NCAA Cross Country Championships in Walla Walla, Washington. It is a very cold day and these athletics are in shorts and tank tops!
Grape Harvest Day
Today is grape harvest day and we have our daughter-in-law and little grandson to ‘help’. We are going to make jam and juice them. The vines are in their 4th year of growth. There are so many grapes more than we anticipate as we fill up bowls and containers. Watch how Kiel helps us harvest grapes and the things he does to occupy himself.
Manito Park Japanese Garden
Manito Park Japanese Garden in Spokane, WA is known as the the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden. It is a place of beauty and tranquility. Fall is our favorite time of the year to visit this garden because the trees are in beautiful shades of warm colors. This is the perfect time to bring your significant other for some great photo moments.
Apple Picking Day
Apple picking day for the family at Green Bluff, Washington. It’s our grandson first visit and he enjoys the tractor ride to the orchard. This bundle of energy is everywhere, picking apples, riding on a wheelbarrow and making daddy chase him. The petting zoo and play area gets his attention too and we love to watch the joy on his face.
Spokane County Interstate Fair
Spokane County Interstate Fair is a ten-day event beginning the Friday after Labor Day each year. There are arts and crafts, food preservation, livestock, horticulture, floriculture and photography. We have a family visit there since our grandson loves to see the farm animals and he can get on a few rides at the fun fair.
Crane House Museum
Shane retraces his mom’s visit to the Crane House Museum with me. Her uncle Henry once lived in that house. A photo of her dad and Henry rolling on log is also in the museum! Interesting visit to see artifacts and memorabilia from the Harrison’s early settlement days. There is even a jailhouse at the back! Bonus – family history added in this post.
Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
We make an easy 40 minutes drive to Lake Coeur d’Alene in Idaho to have breakfast at Coeur d’Alene Resort & Spa, and then a lazy stroll on the longest floating boardwalk in the world! The clear sky, fresh breeze and cobalt blue water make for a great photo op. The Mudgy Moose Trail see us walking around the city center and into the park looking for moose.
GIFT Foundation – Last Day & Update
Today we talk about GIFT Foundation Children and give more faces to them. It is hard for Shane to say goodbye because the children have established a strong bond with him. We have a latest update, share our concerns and hope more volunteers and donations will come through to help these children. We pray for a better future for them.
Singapore, I’ve Missed You
My first trip back to Singapore after 20 years make me realize how much I’ve missed Singapore and most of all my families! We visit a few attractions but get caught paying a hefty price for our lunch. The time spend with my aunt and uncle is priceless and they join me to Singapore Changi Airport for my walk down memory lane.
