We Love Japanese Food
I am sure by now everyone who knows us know we LOVE Japanese food. I am soooo happy when Shane took interest in the art of making sushi four years ago. Since then, we have enjoyed making our own at home to suit our taste buds. In Malaysia, we purchase sashimi from Flying Fish at SS15 in Subang Jaya and enjoy a cheaper price than when back home in Spokane, USA. We also eat at a few different Japanese restaurants near us and found our favorite Sushi Zanmai Restaurant in Citta Mall.
Sushi Zanmai, Citta Mall
We are staying at H20 Residences and Citta Mall is the nearest shopping outlet we favored. We ate for the first time at Sushi Zanmai after our experience eating at Sen Sen Sushi Restaurant. On that day Sushi Zanmai was pretty empty so we got to watch the head chef at work making our lunch. AND….He has the real Japanese wasabi from a frozen pack for us to taste! We have to pay extra for this which was really marginal. Chef TC won us over with his knowledge of wasabi, food presentation and flavors. For short, a real Japanese wasabi is pungent yet delicate with heat that fades quickly. It compliments the sashimi and does not overpower it like horseradish. Enjoying each morsel with the Japanese wasabi is quite a culinary experience.

We have eaten at Sushi Zanmai three times since our first dine in on February 09. We tried many and loved most of them. Shane is very inspired with the sushi presentations and wants to try some when we get back to Spokane. Below are images from our sushi and sashimi orders.

We think Chef TC makes very good sushi and we prefer to dine there when he is around. Our platters didn’t taste as good as when Chef TC makes them.
