Fun Activities for Kiel
Our grandson Kiel is with us as our daughter-in-law was about to give birth to her second son. Kiel turned 3 at the end of September and we have had the privilege of babysitting this boy and watch him grow throughout the years. We always try to come up with fun activities as he gets older; from pillow fights, banging my pots and pans to playing with grandpa’s pebbles in his Japanese Garden. There are always fun activities to keep him entertained and sleep well at night! LOL
First and Second Day with Grandparents
On the first and second day with grandparents, Kiel had his usual fun activities; pillow fights, hide-n-seek, digging in the garden, grandpa dragging him around the house on a blanket and long baths. Grandpa will read him a story and we watch Ice Age cartoon over and over and over…. I will make his current favorite snack – pop corn chicken. We also make a card together to welcome his little brother. Thank goodness he still take naps in the afternoons to give us some respite and then the activities continue. One of his favorite activities here is to stack his magnetic blocks on my wardrobe mirror.
You’re A Big Brother
Aaron arrived in the early morning of December 04. You’re a big brother, Kiel! We dressed Kiel in a doctor’s scrub costume to carry on our daughter-in-law’s tradition when visiting his little brother in the hospital. This costume belonged to Kasandra. She was dressed in this doctor’s scrub costume to meet her little brother. We bought some balloons and Kiel fell asleep holding on to the strings on the way to the hospital. He was happy to see his parents and was so careful touching Aaron. It was amusing to watch Kiel’s amazement at how small Aaron’s hands and feet are! He used his doctor’s stethoscope to check on Aaron. Cuteness overloaded! What a precious moment.
South Hill Library – Children Section
Shane and I often go to our public library on the South Hill, Spokane. The library has an area for children with games, toys, books and even a story time. After visiting his little brother, we introduced him to the library. Kiel loved it! He played some educational games on the computer, stack toys and made a fort. There wasn’t any children around so Kiel has the whole play area to himself.
His parents picked him up today. Kiel is excited to play with his little brother. LOL He didn’t know yet newborns are just going to eat and sleep the whole time. We are eager to see how he’s going to respond as a big brother to Aaron. Click on this LINK to read more about our time with grandkids.
