Idaho State is well known for its mountainous landscapes, swaths of protected wilderness, lakes, outdoor recreation areas and potatoes. It has also many mining towns that are now abandoned and became ghost towns. We visited two on the Idaho panhandle today; Frisco and Burke which were once boom towns for lead, silver and zinc.

View moreApple picking day for the family at Green Bluff, Washington. It's our grandson first visit and he enjoys the tractor ride to the orchard. This bundle of energy is everywhere, picking apples, riding on a wheelbarrow and making daddy chase him. The petting zoo and play area gets his attention too and we love to watch the joy on his face.
View moreSpokane County Interstate Fair is a ten-day event beginning the Friday after Labor Day each year. There are arts and crafts, food preservation, livestock, horticulture, floriculture and photography. We have a family visit there since our grandson loves to see the farm animals and he can get on a few rides at the fun fair.
View moreShane retraces his mom's visit to the Crane House Museum with me. Her uncle Henry once lived in that house. A photo of her dad and Henry rolling on log is also in the museum! Interesting visit to see artifacts and memorabilia from the Harrison's early settlement days. There is even a jailhouse at the back! Bonus – family history added in this post.
View moreWe make an easy 40 minutes drive to Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho to have breakfast at Coeur d'Alene Resort & Spa, and then a lazy stroll on the longest floating boardwalk in the world! The clear sky, fresh breeze and cobalt blue water make for a great photo op. The Mudgy Moose Trail see us walking around the city center and into the park looking for moose.
